This comes after the Board of Supervisors replaced equipment that was already known to be working during early voting with different machines that hadn’t been tried and true in the field. Berland says the county’s errors are contributing to apathy and discouraging voters. “I can’t tell you the number of people I’ve talked to” who are discouraged and asking “why should I bother voting? It doesn't count anyhow.” Still he encourages all Republicans to vote “no matter what” because “no vote is a vote for communism”
