Fort Bend County Tax Assessor-Collector Charged in Wire Fraud Scheme

#BREAKING Fort Bend County Tax Assessor-Collector Carmen Patrice Turner and two of her subordinates, Shemerrylyn Regina Fields and Victor Calvin Ewing, have been federally indicted for conspiracy, theft concerning federal program funds and wire fraud. Turner is accused of using money allotted for county payroll to pay Fields and Ewing to care for her elderly mother, among other duties, while on the county clock and instructing them to lie about it on their timesheets. FBI Houston's Public Corruption team, the Texas Rangers, and the Harris County DA's Office investigated.
