Christine Grady spent nearly three decades at the NIH Department of Bioethics.
She eventually became its chief.
Her specialties included informed consent, human-subject protections, vulnerability and research ethics.
And apparently, public relations.

Grady wasn't merely an NIH employee.
She occupied the top position in American bioethics.
She served seven years on the President's Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues.
She lectured the rest of us about ethics.
She is married the most powerful public-health bureaucrat in America.
