I began working as a Special Government Employee for the Department of War in July, to serve the country in a more hands-on way.

My press credentials at the Pentagon expired in June and I did not seek a renewal of those credentials.

Being a "fed" used to be a negative thing only to the law breakers. Now people are using it as a slur.

… sure don't do it for the high salary.

I.e., look at Pete Hegseth… He left a very lucrative job to serve. He's not a taker. Look at Trump, he didn't need this, and his very life was almost snuffed out. And so many more patriots are serving because they love this country!
