New York just turned off subway escalators to conserve energy.

One of the richest cities on earth, rationing power like a developing country.

… the NYC region. Clean, cheap, running around the clock. Closed by 2021.

Then Albany moved to ban natural gas hookups in new buildings and leaned harder on a grid that now imports power from other states.

You cannot delete that much of your supply and expect the lights to stay cheap and steady.

So they do not rebuild the supply. They tell YOU to use less. Escalators off. Conserve energy. Brownout warnings every summer.

The same politicians who created the shortage now lecture you about your thermostat.

Scarcity like this is a policy choice, not a law of nature.
