The underground bunker, built beneath the compound, served as a secure emergency asset for managing the fighting by the leader, who was eliminated before he could use it in Operation "Roar of the Lion." After the elimination of Khamenei, the compound continued to serve the senior officials of the Iranian regime.

Over the years, the regime invested its efforts in establishing the underground compound, with the aim of creating a base for it to advance its military plans, and to realize the extremist and brutal ideology against the State of Israel and the Western world.
The underground bunker sprawled across entire streets in the heart of Tehran and included multiple entry points and rooms for gatherings of the senior officials of the Iranian terror regime.
The compound was attacked following the collection of intelligence and prolonged, thorough intelligence research conducted by Military Intelligence.
The leadership compound served as the central and most critical headquarters of the Iranian terror regime. The destruction of the underground bunker deepens the damage to the command and control capabilities of the Iranian terror regime.
