… prestigious firm Cheronis & Parente LLC alongside Harvey Weinstein’s defense attorney Damon Cheronis, is representing 30-year-old Chicago resident Marimar Martinez—a vocal anti-ICE activist known for doxxing ICE agents and rallying protesters to confront federal immigration officers.

Martinez was involved in a violent vehicle chase and deliberate ramming of an ICE vehicle in Brighton Park on October 4, 2025, where she was shot seven times by a Border Patrol agent and arrested with co-defendant Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz on federal charges of forcibly assaulting and interfering with law enforcement officers.

Detained until her detention hearing on October 6, 2025, she was ordered to be released by U.S. Magistrate Judge Heather McShain, despite the severity of the violent incident and attempted homicide of Federal immigration agents.

Another significant case handled by the same law firm was USA v. Ji Chaoqun, where the defendant was convicted of spying for China and received an executive clemency from Joe Biden’s auto-pen on November 22, 2024, leading to his release and return to China after he had spent over six years in prison since September 2018.

One can’t help but wonder how Marimar Martinez, an anti-ICE protester, can afford the services of such a prestigious and well-connected law firm. This should be investigated more, as it suggests there may be a possible hidden financial backer from within the Democrat Party paying for Marimar Martinez’s elite legal defense after she tried to murder a Federal Border Patrol Agent with a vehicle while allegedly in possession of a lethal weapon.
