What you’re seeing here is the height of Democrat double-speak. Maxine Dexter talks about a “compassionate Portland” and rejecting federal help, while under her watch businesses are shuttered, historic neighborhoods like Chinatown are graffitied and gutted, and residents are told…

The so-called “strong and compassionate” Portland has turned into an unsafe ghetto because of policies that coddle criminals, enable theft, and tie the hands of law enforcement. And when federal agents step in to restore order, she doesn’t want them .. because fixing the mess would expose the failure of Democrat leadership.

It’s the same story in Democrat-run cities across America: they tell you they’re “protecting neighbors,” but the only thing they protect is their own power. Meanwhile, ordinary people are left to suffer in broken, dangerous communities.
