… CBO predicted the Inflation Reduction Act would decrease the deficit.🧵 The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has a history of being wrong—always in favor of Democrats.

And it’s happening again.
But, last year, a new analysis found that it will do the opposite—increase the deficit by $300 billion over the next decade.
The CBO also badly miscalculated how many healthy adults would enroll in Medicaid during expansion.
They predicted 13 million. But—9 years later—over 19.5 million had enrolled in Medicaid after expansion.
The CBO grossly overestimated how many Americans would enroll in health insurance through ACA exchanges.
Their projection was 22 million by 2016. But, throughout the first decade of the ACA, enrollment hovered around 12 million.
Without fail, the CBO always downplays the benefits of tax cuts and overestimates growth after tax hikes.
They operate from a standpoint of high tax rates don’t hurt and low tax rates don’t help.
But they have been wrong virtually every time.
Now, the CBO is wrong again about the Senate Republican plan for safety and prosperity.
Our plan will strengthen Medicaid for Americans who need it by getting illegals off the program and helping healthy adults find work.
