It is the power to rule dispassionately on the specific case before her; not the power to hold court on the merits of presidential decisions. Yet, Chutkin lashed out, declaring that Trump's pardons “cannot whitewash the blood, feces and terror that the mob left in its wake. And it cannot repair the jagged breach in America’s sacred tradition of peacefully transitioning power.”
